The 'B' stands for benefit, which represents a new kind of business that applies their power and resources for public good. This designation is similar to a Fair Trade or LEED certification and indicates that we are committed to making a difference while meeting comprehensive, higher standards of corporate social responsibility, environmental performance, accountability and transparency.
We have now joined a diverse community of 2,000 B Corp certified organizations worldwide such asWarby Parker,Patagonia,Etsy,Dr. Bronner's,The Honest Company,Indosole, andIndigenous - to name a handful. Together we are working toward one ambitious vision: to redefine success in business. Certified B Corporations are social enterprises verified byB Lab, a nonprofit organization that serves a global movement ofpeople using business as a force for good.
From our very beginning, we’ve been committed to delivering safe, natural oral care products, like our nontoxic toothpaste, mouthwash and teeth whitening pens to our customers and making positive changes in the way people make everyday decisions relating to social and environmental impact.
So why did we become B Corp certified?Our new B Corp seal assures consumers that we offer more than just marketing—that we practice what we preach. Some of these practices consist of our sustainability and eco-friendly efforts, ethical treatment of workers and equal opportunities for all employees.
Receiving the B Corp certification confirms Dr. Brite's mission to educate consumers on socially conscious decisions that will affect their life choices, including the purchase of Dr. Brite oral care products. In order for a business to become B Corp certified, it must first complete the B Impact Assessment and earn a reviewed minimum score of 80/200. This assessment covers the company’s entire operation and measures the positive impact of the company in areas of governance, workers, community and the environment, as well as the product or service the company provides.Dr. Brite’s full B Impact Report is available to the publichere.
We believe the B Corp assessment also provides a framework to evaluate Dr. Brite’s success against rigorous values and responsible practices as we continue to grow as a company. Today, we are incredibly proud to be one of a hundred Certified B Corps that belong to the Home and Personal Care category.
