How do whitening toothpastes work and should I be using one?

All toothpastes help remove surface stains when used on a regular basis, but beware of commercial toothpastes formulated with harsh abrasives and harmful whitening agents. Instead opt for a natural whitening toothpaste that gently corrects discoloration without causing harm to tooth enamel and gums.

The Dr. Brite whitening mineral toothpaste is made with ingredients known to brighten your smile including organic coconut oil and activated charcoal.

What about whitening strips and gels? What’s the best way to whiten teeth at home?

There are many teeth whitening treatments on today’s market, but similar to whitening toothpaste they contain harmful bleaching agents that can damage teeth and gums. Also many users experience pain due to ill fitting strips or trays, which can cause gum soreness.

But with the Dr. Brite teeth whitening pens you can easily control the application of the gel formula and avoid any potential irritation. If some does get on your gums, the natural ingredients will not cause discomfort...so no need to worry.

The best part of these pain-free teeth whitening pens is that it only takes about three minutes from start to finish and you can simply brighten your smile anywhere, anytime!

When should I start using toothpaste on my child?

Parents should apply a tiny amount of natural toothpaste to brush baby teeth twice a day as soon as the first pearly white appears. Make sure to use a soft-bristled toothbrush specifically designed for infants. We also suggest that in order to prevent dental problems, your child should see a pediatric dentist no later than their first birthday.

Once children are 3 to 6 years old, the amount should be increased to pea-size dollop and should begin brushing on their own with parental guidance.

I’m not having any symptoms; do I still need to visit the dentist?

Yes! Even if you are not experiencing any symptoms, you may still have dental health problems that can only be diagnosed by a dentist. Regular visits also help prevent problems from developing.

Keeping your mouth healthy is an essential part of your overall health and must be properly maintained. It’s also important to keep your dentist informed of any changes in your overall health, since other conditions may affect your oral health too.

How can I reverse gum disease naturally?

Periodontal (gum) disease is an infection of the tissues that surround and support your teeth. The first stage of gum disease, or gingivitis, is reversible. It’s important to recognize and care for early signs of gingivitis to stop the progression. Here are the reversible symptoms to look for:

  • Swollen, red, tender or bleeding gums
  • Persistent bad breath or bad taste in mouth
  • Gums that recede or move away from the tooth

Good oral hygiene is essential to reversing gum disease and preventing it from returning. Properly floss and brush your teeth twice a day for two minutes with a soft-bristle toothbrush. You can also use this toothbrush to gently massage the gums, which helps circulate blood and reduce inflammation.

Because saliva helps wash away bacteria from your gums and teeth, keep hydrating by drinking plenty of water and rinsing with an alcohol-free mouthwash to limit the amount of germs. Of course, we suggest the Dr. Brite Mouth Rinse for a healthy mouth and fresh breath!
